Special General Meeting and March 4 Our Rights next Wednesday 4 March
The State Committee has called an SGM under Rule 11(3) to vote on the following single question:
“That the proposed amendments of Clause 8 of the Permanent Award and the associated explanatory notes set out in correspondence dated and published on www.fbeu.net on 20 February 2015 be received and endorsed.”
The opening SGM will be held at Belmore St next Wednesday, 1000hrs with the SGM concluding and the final vote being declared at 2000 hours on 11 March at 97 Huntingwood. Country Sub-Branch meetings will be confirmed by separate circular to CSB stations early next week. The Retained Sub-Branch will not be meeting as the question concerns only the Permanent Firefighting Staff Award.
At the close of the Belmore St meeting members are invited to join the FBEU contingent marching to NSW Parliament as a part of the “March 4 Our Rights” rally. The rally has been called by the ACTU and Unions NSW, and is in response Tony Abbott’s budget cuts to education and community services nationally, and to Mike Baird’s plans to privatise hospitals and electricity here in NSW.
The more of us on the street next week the clearer the message will be to Baird – NSW is not for sale.
