February Special General Meeting Details

Further to last week’s SITREP, special general meetings will be held next week on 24 February.  The purpose of these meetings is to consider two motions regarding staffing levels, one initiated by members from 1 station and the other from the Senior Officers Sub-branch, and a motion regarding the 2011 Awards. It is important to note that this meeting will be deciding on the 2011 permanent and retained Awards so members are encouraged to attend and vote.

Please see below the Sub-branch meeting times and arrangements for holding Country/Retained Sub-branch meetings.

  • Newcastle – The Newcastle Sub-Branch will meet at No. 260 Station, Cooks Hill commencing at 0800 hours on Thursday 24 February
  • Illawarra – The Illawarra Sub-Branch will meet at No. 503 Station, Wollongong commencing 0800 hours on Thursday 24 February.
  • Sydney South-West – A South-West Sydney Sub-Branch meeting will be held at No. 8 Station, Liverpool commencing 0800 hours on Thursday 24 February.
  • Sydney North-West – There will be two North-West Sydney Sub-Branch meetings. One will be held at No. 27 Station, Parramatta commencing 0800 hours on Thursday 24 February. The other will be held at No. 78 Station, Dunheved commencing at 0800 hours on Thursday 24 February.
  • Central Coast – The Central Coast Sub-Branch will meet at No. 228 Station, Berkeley Vale commencing 0800 hours on Thursday 24 February.
  • Special General Meeting – The SGM will be held at the Union Office, commencing 1000 hours on Thursday 24 February.
  • Country – The Country Sub-Branch will meet at No. 412 Station, Orange commencing 0800 hours on Thursday 24 February.
  • Combined Country/Retained Sub-Branch – meetings may be held locally at any Fire Station situated outside of the Greater Sydney, Newcastle, Central Coast and Illawarra areas on Thursday 24 February, provided that:

a)  notice of intention to hold a local meeting has been given to the State Secretary by no later than 3pm Tuesday 22 February; and

b)  a quorum of at least 7 financial Union members will be physically present for the duration of each meeting; and

c)  the vote from each meeting is forwarded to the State Secretary prior to 1000 hours on Thursday 24 February in order to be added to the total AGM vote.
