2011 Sydney North West Sub-Branch Meeting Agenda

March 23, 2011

Meeting details:

31 March 2011
1800hr for BBQ, meeting to start at 1830hrs
97 Station Huntingwood

1. State Secretary’s Report

2. 2011 Award discussion & preparation for the 2014 Award

(i.e. preliminary to the intended upcoming special ‘award agenda’ sub- branch meeting. This is to enable the sub – branch to develop with the members, an award platform to take to SCOM)

3. CFR/MFR Discussion

*Motions to be considered for SGM Petition (50 Signatures)

a) That, in response to the Departments failure to acknowledge the remunerative value of all new work, particularly in terms of training, responsibilities and workload, we the members of the FBEU ban any further increase of FRNSW stations (retained or permanent) that perform the CFR/MFR role. That from this date the following identified stations only are allowed to continue their current role in terms of training and response: Alstonville, Branxton, Bundeena, Bundanoon, Uralla and Tocumwal

In addition, the union will unreservedly support any of the above stations, which decide that they no longer wish to participate in the CFR/MFR programme.

b) That, in response to the Departments failure to acknowledge the remunerative value of all new work, particularly in terms of training, responsibilities and workload, we the members of the FBEU, ban the use of any members not actually attached to the following retained stations, Alstonville, Branxton, Bundeena, Bundanoon, Uralla and Tocumwal from having to perform the CFR / MFR role when sent to those stations for staff shortages (i.e. Out-duty, stand-by or recall). The effect being, those stations will be offline to that role whilst they are staffed with personnel from non CFR/MFR stations.

4. LSV. Assistance and discussion of issues

5. Meal Allowance clarification discussion

6. Discussion on improving lines of communication to relevant staff (i.e. delegates, supervising officers, comms etc), in relation to notification of urgent/important union information.

That the SCOM resolves to introduce a system to have any union instructions/bans immediately distributed via email and/or SMS, to the pre-identified members, which are strategic to the successful and organised implementation of that union information. This will include, but not be limited to, all union officials and delegates, supervising officers of all platoons (email and work mobile), comms centres, pump mobiles and turnout systems.
