AGM reminder and SGM notice

SITREP 33 gave notice of the Union’s 107th Annual General meeting to be held commencing next week. Notice is hereby given in accordance with Rule 12 that a Special General Meeting will be held concurrently with next week’s AGM to consider the following recommendation from the Union’s Sydney Outer West Sub-Branch:

“That the Permanent Award should be amended to allow members who give 64 weeks or less written notice of their date of resignation (including retirement) from FRNSW should be allowed the choice of:

a) taking their annual leave as scheduled, or: 

b) deferring taking their annual leave until immediately prior to leaving; or 

c) not taking any annual leave prior to leaving and instead being paid the value of their accumulated annual leave on exit.”

Members are reminded that as per Rule 11, the opening section meeting is the only meeting at which motions may be amended. The AGM/SGM meetings details are as follows:

Retained and Country Sub-Branch members may meet locally (but once only) at any time between 1830 hours on Thursday 26 October and 0800 hours on Tuesday 31 October provided that:

a) a quorum of least seven financial Union members will be present throughout the course of the meeting; and

b)  written notice of intention to hold a meeting together with the proposed time, date and location is received by the Union office by no later than 1700 hours on Tuesday 24 October.

Note that any Union member (permanent or retained) may attend any Sub-Branch meeting and vote on any General Meeting question, even if they are not a member of that Sub-Branch.
