As last discussed in SitRep 57, the FRNSW risk assessment said to inform a position on a vaccination mandate has had no formal consultation in accordance with WHS legislation.
FRNSW have corresponded with the Union since this time but continue to fail in demonstrating their duty to genuinely consult with workers and their representatives on this matter.
As such, FRNSW have been notified of a dispute and we hope the Department will come back to the table and consult appropriately.

Contactless changeovers
Further to the easing of COVID-19 restrictions the decision to continue contactless changeovers is now in the hands of members at individual stations. Although not a one size fit all policy, the feedback from members was very positive and if any member has further ideas on how to deal with future outbreaks of COVID-19 or similar to please email the office or contact their Sub-Branch Secretary.
2021 Rex Threlfo Toast save the date
On Thursday December 9 the FBEU will host the Rex Threlfo Toast. This is our first face-to-face Toast since the start of the pandemic, and we are excited to have members back together.
Each year FBEU members come together to celebrate retired members and their contributions. For new recruits, this is a great opportunity to get to know your fellow Union members and the importance of solidarity in our job.
More details to follow.
