SitRep 51/2022 – Award Update

FBEU is pleased to advise that this morning Wednesday 28 September 2022, the Industrial Relations Commission of NSW, made the following awards with the consent of both FRNSW and FBEU:
- Crown Employees (Fire and Rescue NSW Permanent Firefighting Staff) Award 2022
- Crown Employees (Fire and Rescue NSW Retained Firefighting Staff) Award 2022
- Crown Employees (Fire and Rescue NSW Firefighting Staff Death and Disability) Award 2022
All three awards are operative from 26 February 2022 to 25 February 2023, a period of 12 months.
Both the Permanent and Retained Awards will provide for a total increase of 2.5% to all firefighting staff, inclusive of an increase of 0.5 per cent superannuation guarantee from 1 July 2022.
Back pay from 26 February 2022 will also be made in the pay of 20 October 2022.
The Permanent and Retained Awards, will also express the ATO and CPI increases to meal and travelling allowances from 1 July 2022.
The parties are in further discussion regarding those who are on a defined benefit superannuation scheme and will provide a further update on this matter shortly.
