TROPICAL CYCLONE ALFRED DEPLOYMENTS

Permanent and Retained members are being deployed from across the state to assist with preparation, response, and clean-up in relation to Tropical Cyclone Alfred.

Members have been reaching out regarding their entitlements. An updated information sheet for both Permanent and Retained is available by clicking here. Save this document on your phone for quick reference throughout and after your deployment.

It is great to see Government directing the SES to pre-emptively engage FRNSW strike teams instead of doing so when it’s too late, and I want to assure members that the FBEU’s direct advocacy on this has led to our integration into the planning for this weather event.

On behalf of the State Committee, I wish all our members at stations in northern NSW and those deployment the best, and remind all members to remain safe and look after yourself, your families, and your comrades.

RETAINED WHOLE DAY TRAINING MEALS

Any Retained who have completed a whole day training course, and have not been provided with Morning Tea, Lunch, or Afternoon Tea by FRNSW, are asked to provide the details to garnott@fbeu.net. Please include the date of the training, the expected hours of the training (see the Joining Instructions), the actual hours of the training, the course name, the location of the training, and what food was provided, if any.

Members are reminded that Clause 43.3.1 of the Retained Award requires FRNSW to provide Morning Tea, Lunch, and Afternoon Tea for any Retained staff who attend a whole day training program, and failure to do so is a breach of the Award which we will not tolerate.

In Unity,

Leighton Drury
State Secretary
