2024 PERMANENT AND RETAINED AWARDS – GAZETTED

We can confirm that our 2024 Permanent and Retained Awards have been gazetted and are now published on the IRC website, finally putting them into effect. You can view the current Awards on our website here. This finally brings the process for our 2024 Retained and Permanent Awards to a close.

The D&D Award decision was published today, viewable here, and we are waiting for it to be gazetted and published too, which will finalise all of our Awards once complete.

We have already turned our minds to the next round of negotiations for our 2027 Awards. Shortly, you will receive another email with a survey for our next log of claims, which will be built on member input and endorsed by the membership at an SGM.

ADDITIONAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY – 27 APRIL 2026

Members may be aware that the NSW Government has recently declared that 27 April 2026 will be an additional public holiday.

As this is an additional public holiday, the following arrangements will be in place:

Retained Firefighters: All work performed between 0000 hrs and 2359 hrs will be paid at overtime rates.

Permanent Firefighters: All work performed between 0000 hrs and 2359 hrs will have those hours worked credited to Consolidated Leave.
