PERMANENT MEAL ALLOWANCES ON OVERTIME – UPDATE

Following SitRep 10/2026 and SitRep 13/2026, yesterday we had a directions hearing before the IRC to determine a way forward on the overtime meal allowance dispute for permanent members. This was our first appearance before the IRC after we filed our dispute in mid-April.

Given the Department has yet to respond in any meaningful way to the matters we have raised, the IRC has directed them to file a response by 25 May.

Conciliation will then be held between the FBEU and the Department on 2 June, with a further directions hearing to be scheduled after that date if conciliation is unsuccessful.
