2027 AWARD NEGOTIATIONS – UPDATE

Negotiations have continued this week with significant progress being made regarding Retained reform. We have also begun more detailed discussions of Relativities for Permanent firefighters which would see a program of qualifications and training being aligned at appropriate ranks and levels (as outlined in our Log of Claims) with corresponding relativity increases. We continue to work through costings and details of that model.

Next week, we intend to discuss further aspects of the Retained Log of Claims including qualifications, training and relativities, as well as our tiered relieving model for permanents. We also hope to have a clearer position from the Department in relation to our claims regarding GLR and other specialist rescue allowances.

A reminder that AGMs will commence on 31 October, where further updates will be available.

PERMANENT MEAL ALLOWANCE ON OVERTIME – UPDATE

Despite the Department committing weeks ago to pay and backpay meal allowances on overtime to Permanent firefighters, as we all know, they still have not actually commenced the process to audit and process those back payments.

We are back in the IRC on Monday afternoon, where we will be pressing the Department in relation to the delay.
