2021 FBEU Election Timetable

January 28, 2021

We now have a timetable from the NSW Electoral Commission for the 2021 election of the FBEU State Committee of Management.

The timetable for this year’s elections is as follows:

Close of Rolls Tuesday 16 February 2021
Invite Nominations Tuesday 23 February 2021
Close Nominations 1700hrs Monday 15 March 2021
Withdraw of Nominations 1200hrs Monday 22 March 2021
Draw for names on Ballot Paper (at NSWEC) 1400hrs Monday 22 March 2021
Post Voting Material Monday 29 March 2021
Close Poll 1700hrs Thursday 29 April 2021
Count 0900hrs Friday 30 April 2021

The voting period is open longer than provided by the Union’s rules and was determined by the NSW Electoral Commission owing to the Easter holiday period and revised (slower) postal delivery times. This means members have more time to get their votes in.

The NSW Electoral Commission relies on the Union’s membership records, not on your electoral records. You can’t vote if you don’t receive a ballot paper and you won’t receive a ballot paper from the NSW Electoral Commission if the Union does not have your current address.

Members who have changed address but have not yet let the Union know, or who simply aren’t sure, should complete a change of address form or contact the Union office at so we can check and, if necessary, update your records to ensure that you receive your voting material.

The Electoral Commission’s nomination forms will be included in SitRep when nominations open.

In Unity,

Leighton Drury

State Secretary
