AWARD ARBITRATION – FINAL HEARING DATE CHANGE 

Last minute changes from the IRC this week have caused our final Award Arbitration hearing dates to be brought forward slightly. Both parties will be appearing before the Industrial Relations Court for closing legal submissions on Monday and Tuesday next week 24-25 March. Additionally, the full bench will attend the Emergency Services Academy on 14 April to see first-hand our work and skills.

We are still calling for members to physically fill seats in the hearing room itself next week to ensure a presence before the full bench – register your attendance using this link. FBEU staff will be in touch in the coming days with further particulars.

UPDATE: 2025 SUB-BRANCH EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE ELECTIONS

The results of the election nominations can be viewed here.

Candidates can withdraw their nominations until midday on Monday, 24 March 2025. If there are more candidates than available positions after this date, a ballot will be conducted among financial Station Delegates of the relevant Sub-Branch.

If necessary, a draw for the order of candidates on the ballot paper will take place at 11am on Wednesday, 26 March 2025, at the FBEU Office. Candidates or their nominated scrutineers (who must be financial Union members with written authorisation) may attend.

Financial Station Delegates will be determined based on Union membership records as of Monday, 31 March 2025. Voting materials will be posted that day to the addresses on record, and ballots will close at 5pm on Monday, 14 April 2025.

Ballot counting will begin at 11am on Tuesday, 15 April 2025, at the Union office. Candidates may appoint a scrutineer to observe the count, following the same membership and authorization requirements.
