Members are reminded that the AGM/SGM will be held at various locations around the state commencing 1000 hours at Trades Hall in Sussex Street, Sydney next Wednesday 29 October. The full agenda and meeting venues were published last Friday and can be found here.
Members should be aware that these meetings will proceed strictly in accordance with the agenda and will move immediately to formal debate. It is our intention that no meeting will run any longer than one hour and 45 minutes. The mover of each motion will be allowed six minutes to open the debate and four minutes to reply. All other speakers will be allowed three minutes. There will be ten speakers other than the mover allowed, five for and five against, unless members present vote for a time extension to allow further debate.
Members should also be aware that no question time has been allocated for these meetings. There have been dozens of information sessions held at stations over the past month, and over 40 pages of questions and discussion on the Union’s website forum. Members who remain unsure about any aspect of the proposed awards should email or telephone the Union office over the next week for answers.
