1996 March Special General Meeting

March 13, 1996

Members are hereby advised that in accordance with Rule 11, a Special General Meeting of members shall be held in two parts to consider the questions set out below. Details of the meeting are as follows:

1000 hours, Thursday 28th March, 1996 and

1000 hours, Friday 29th March, 1996.

• STATE SECRETARY’S REPORT
• CONSIDERATION OF UNION POLICY RE PERMANENT’S AWARD, CLAUSE 11 – PROGRESSION AND PROMOTION

‘That the NSW Firefighters’ State Award include that no Leading Firefighter be promoted to the rank of Station Commander Level 1 until they have reached 10 years service and as per the Award (clauses) 11.9 to 11.9.5.’

State Committee of Management recommendation (resolution in part):

“That the correspondence from the rank and file dated February 15, 1996 concerning a request for a Special General Meeting to be held to consider the following question (above) be received:

Further, the State Committee of Management recommend to members that the resolution be supported on the basis that this resolution’s status shall in effect be that of the Union’s position in upcoming Award negotiations, with the eventual Award, and particularly the Progression and Promotion provisions to which this resolution refers, to be that as ratified by a future Special General Meeting.”
