Interim Accommodation Protocol – Course Attendance and Relieving Outside of Sydney, Newcastle and Wollongong

The following provisions will apply with respect to the provision of accommodation:
Reason for Stay: Training Course Outside Sydney
Length of Stay: Less than 7 days
Provisions:
The Department will be able to nominate to utilise one of the following options:
1. Provide the firefighter with twin share accommodation to a 3 star standard (as specified by the most current NRMA Accommodation Directory); or
2. Pay the firefighter the Non Capital Cities Allowance of $120.45.
The Department must notify the firefighter, where reasonable, at least 48hrs in advance of their intention to utilise Options 1 or 2. In the absence of such notice, the firefighter can elect to automatically receive Option 2.
Reason for Stay: Training Course Outside Sydney
Length of Stay: More than 7 days
Provisions:
The Department will be able to nominate to utilise one of the following options:
1. Provide the firefighter with single accommodation to a 3 star standard (as specified by the most current NRMA Accommodation Directory); or
2. Pay the firefighter the Non Capital Cities Allowance of $120.45 (and associated rate applicable if staying in excess of 35 days).
The Department must notify the firefighter, where reasonable, at least 48hrs in advance of their intention to utilise Options 1 or 2. In the absence of such notice, the firefighter can elect to automatically receive Option 2.
Reason for Stay: Training Course in Sydney
Length of Stay: Less than 7 days
Provisions:
The Department will be able to nominate to utilise one of the following options:
1. Provide the firefighter with twin share accommodation to a 3 star standard (as specified by the most current NRMA Accommodation Directory); or
2. Pay the firefighter the Capital Cities Allowance of $169.15; or
3. Place the firefighter in single accommodation at the Eastwood complex when the training is being undertaken at the Eastwood Academy.
The Department must notify the firefighter, where reasonable, at least 48hrs in advance of their intention to utilise Options 1, 2 or 3. In the absence of such notice, the firefighter can elect to automatically receive Option 2.

Length of Stay: More than 7 days
Provisions:
The Department will be able to nominate to utilise one of the following options:
1. Provide the firefighter with single accommodation to a 3 star standard (as specified by the most current NRMA Accommodation Directory); or
2. Pay the firefighter the Capital Cities Allowance of $169.15 (and associated rate applicable if staying in excess of 35 days).
3. The Department must notify the firefighter, where reasonable, at least 48hrs in advance of their intention to utilise Options 1 or 2. In the absence of such notice, the firefighter can elect to automatically receive Option 2.
Reason for Stay: Relieving Outside of Sydney, Newcastle and Wollongong
where the firefighter requires accommodation
Length of Stay: Less than 7 days

The Department will be able to nominate to utilise one of the following options:
1. Provide the firefighter with twin share accommodation to a 3 star standard (as specified by the most current NRMA Accommodation Directory); or
2. Pay the firefighter the Non Capital Cities Allowance of $120.45;
