Sitrep 33/2023: Award update, Vaccination Policy Update

June 30, 2023

Award Update

Further to Monday’s sitrep I just wanted to quickly update you to confirm that we have continued to meet with FRNSW this week for Award negotiations, and have scheduled a further two meetings for Monday and Tuesday next week.

FRNSW continue to ensure decision makers are made available for negotiation including Executive Director Michael Baldi and Acting Deputy Commissioner Trent Curtin, which has been conductive to moving the negotiations forward.

Discussions continue to be productive and I’ll update you all further after our meetings next week.

Covid-19 Vaccination Policy

As I am sure many of you would have read following the email from Michael Baldi this week, FRNSW are reviewing their current Covid-19 Vaccination policy with a view to moving to more holistic vaccination policy for FRNSW.

We have been in discussion with FRNSW about this who have confirmed they will be consulting fully with the FBEU regarding this new policy and will be providing us with a draft shortly.

In the meantime the FBEU is aware employees currently under a disciplinary investigation regarding their vaccination status either have, or will start receiving letters to finalise their disciplinary matter.

If/when you receive this letter, you will have 14 days from the date you receive this correspondence to provide an additional response.

If you are still seeking union representation, or are now seeking union representation, please ensure you contact us asap on receipt of that letter to ensure sufficient time is allowed for us to assist you further.

In Unity,

Leighton Drury
State Secretary
