Further to the AGM notice of 1 October, the details of both the opening and closing Annual General and all related Sub-Branch meetings have now been finalised.

At least four fire stations were temporarily closed as wild weather struck Sydney last night, despite the Bureau of Meteorology warning of the severe storm front, hampering the efforts of emergency services and requiring the urgent recall of off-duty firefighters.

The State Committee of Management has resolved to hold the 104th AGM commencing Wednesday 29 October 2014 at the Trades Hall Auditorium, 377 Sussex Street Sydney.

The FBEU and FRNSW return to the Industrial Relations Commission 1100hrs, Monday 29 September. SITREP 32/2014 will be published after that appearance has been concluded.

Tragic loss of firefighter in the line of duty.

SITREP 29 was expected to feature details of our conditional agreement with the Department for a new rank, promotions and pay framework. And it would have too had we been able to reach one. Publication on SITREP 29 has therefore been held over pending next Tuesday’s IRC proceedings, when hopefully more progress will be made with our 2014 Permanent Award application.
