NOTICE TO ALL OPERATIONAL COMMANDERS, HURSTVILLE

June 28, 1996

Members would be well aware of the complaints surrounding the amenities afforded Operational Commanders within Regional Offices. This problem was most acute in Region South, with members demanding their removal and relocation to an operational station.

The Union has over the past twelve months continued to lobby the Department for this to occur. However, developments in the last week have highlighted the health and safety concerns of the Union over the isolation of these members, and demanded the Union take immediate action to address the situation.

The State Committee of Management this afternoon resolved to take unilateral action, removing Operational Commander members from Hurstville to Kogarah until such time as the Union and Department may confer to resolve the issue of Operational Commander location and amenities across the GSA.

Accordingly, all Operational Commander members located at Region South, Hurstville are instructed not to operate from that location, and are instead to operate from No 21. Station, Kogarah until further notice.
