Workers Comp: Why Firefighters Have More To Lose Than Most

Many members are not aware that, unlike other workers, firefighters have the benefit of workers comp top-up. This means that while everyone else who is off injured drops down after 26 weeks to only $432.50 workers comp per week, firefighters remain on full pay until we return to work.
The Union’s State Committee of Management has resolved to call a Special General Meeting, with the final vote on each question to be declared pursuant to Rule 11(4)(d) at midday on 13 June at 1-7 Belmore Street, Surry Hills.
